Overview
This 3-hour course includes a live webinar provided by The National Technical Assistance Center's Infant and Toddler Specialist State Capacity Building Center and a guided discussion held in the PDIS. There will also be optional resources available to read and watch held inside the PDIS course.
Objective
Define trauma, toxic stress, and adverse childhood experiences
Describe the impact of caregiver and family wellness on infants, toddlers, families, and caregivers
Identify strategies to support healing, recognize the importance of culture, and build children's learning
Align strategies to the relationship-based framework
Additional Information
This webinar and PDIS-based follow up discussion is required for professionals who are pursuing certification as Expanding Quality in Infant Toddler Care Infant Toddler Specialists and EQIT Instructors. It is also open to all. To earn your 3 hours of ongoing professional development, you will need to verify that you have completed both participation in the live webinar on January 24th, 2020, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM MST and the discussion thread found in your Colorado Shines PDIS dashboard.
