Settings Needed for Course Use - Accept 3rd Party Cookies

You need to allow for 3rd Party cookies on your computer. There are different directions depending on the web browser you are using.  

Google Chrome

  • Click on the Chrome menu. It is in the top-right corner of the browser window and looks like three vertical lines  .
  • Select Settings.
  • Click Show advanced settings, small and blue at the very bottom, hard to see.
  • Under Privacy, click the Content settings button.
  • Under Cookies, click Manage exceptions.
  • Add website address:


Note - Cookies are enabled by default in Firefox.  If this is the case, you do not have to change anything. 

  • At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Options
  • Select the Privacy panel.
  • Set Firefox will: to Use custom settings for history.
  • Check mark Accept cookies from sites to enable Cookies, and uncheck it to disable them.
  • Choose how long cookies are allowed to be stored:
    • Keep until: they expire: Each cookie will be removed when it reaches its expiration date, which is set by the site that sent the cookie.
    • Keep until: I close Firefox: The cookies that are stored on your computer will be removed when Firefox is closed.
    • Keep until: ask me every time: Displays an alert every time a website tries to send a cookie, and asks you whether or not you want to store it.
  • Click OK to close the Options window.


 Internet Explorer

  • Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
  • Click the Privacy tab, and then move the slider to a position between the top and bottom so you are not blocking or allowing all cookies.
  • Click Sites.
  • In the Address of website box, type, and then click Allow.  As you start typing the address, there is a list of webpages that have been visited and you will be able to click on the web address displayed.
  • Click OK.
  • Move the slider back to the position it was originally in, and then click OK.
