Can you earn Early Childhood Coursework points for courses that were part of your degree?

Return to Frequently Asked Questions

Can you earn Early Childhood Coursework points for courses that were part of your degree?

Yes! The points in the Formal Education section are cumulative. So, if you have a Bachelor’s degree in a related Area of Study that also included Early Childhood coursework, you earn points for Degree, Area of Study, and Courses. For Example:

  • Bachelor’s degree completed in 2010= 10 points
  • Area of Study was in a related area= 4 points
  • 12 classes focused specifically on Early Childhood Content = 12 points

This adds up to a total of 26 points in the Formal Education section. Please note that the points for Courses will expire in 2025, and the points for the Area of Study will expire in 2035. However, the points for the Bachelor’s degree will not expire.
